Jamie’s career story is a powerful reminder that fulfillment often lies beyond traditional career paths. Despite being educated in Industrial and Operations Engineering, Jamie found herself in software development and quickly realized she disliked the limited nature of her work. She craved being able to be more user-centric and collaborating cross-functionally with other teams. This realization drew Jamie toward product management where her career took off. However, despite her success, Jamie still felt a deeper calling toward leadership development and coaching.

Her transition to full-time coaching was sparked during a challenging period in her life, including overwhelming work responsibilities and personal struggles with IVF treatments. The demands were even worse because of the IVF treatments and a loss of passion for her work which followed. It was at that point that Jamie finally decided to pursue coaching — a passion she had always carried. This career shift allowed Jamie to help professionals navigate their own career transitions, including taking on leadership roles, bridging the gap between their current struggles and their desired future.

Jamie believes true career satisfaction comes from integrating personal and professional identities. She encourages people to show up authentically at work, emphasizing that what happens at home influences work and vice versa. Her advice is to identify day-to-day tasks that bring joy and energy rather than chasing a singular, all-consuming passion (“What’s exciting about your day-to-day?”).

Jamie also champions building strong, intentional networks instead of transactional ones. She advises professionals to move LinkedIn conversations to real-life interactions and maintain consistent follow-ups. Most importantly, she emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive “village” — a network of mentors, friends, and even coaches who can provide guidance.
