Why Rewrite and Rewire? How are these important for people?
I believe most battles are won in your mind. Most things we have achieved and will achieve in the future are directly related to whether we won or lost in our minds first. Many of us have walked through difficult seasons in our lives even when moving into new and exciting changes. The changing seasons in life may be good, but they can also bring grief with them like becoming an empty nester; a change in job position; or relatives that come to live with you. You may find yourself having to reinvest in your marriage, reinvent yourself in a new role, or remember why you allowed family to invade your home. Hard seasons or changing seasons may require making adjustments, and that includes how you process your thoughts and feelings.

I like this analogy of half-time at a game. At half-time, you reflect on what you did well and what you need to improve. You must remove your feelings of how the ref made you feel, how the fans jeered your name, or if the coach sat you on the bench. You even need to humble yourself if you score all 25 points. Sometimes at half-time, you need to make several adjustments – you rewrite the plays. We adjust our thoughts and feelings towards our opponents, teammates, and even ourselves, and it determines how we finish the game.

Life is no different. If you don’t rewire your brain, and how you think, it will impact how you play the second half of the game or life. Most of what we face in our lives is won or lost in our minds. It is important to look at how you think or see life in your mind, as that will determine if you finish the race strong.

You must acknowledge the situation you find yourself in and the difficulties you are walking through. You should: 1) find the silver lining and lesson you learned from your experience 2) acknowledge the blessings you received and 3) spend time in gratitude.

What are some common mistakes people make when rewiring their mindset? How do they avoid them?

The first one is believing the immediate thoughts that come into your mind as truth and then reacting in a way that allows your emotions to lead you. The second is understanding soul care is a form of self-care.

Unfortunately, as women (and humans) most of our initial thoughts about life or ourselves tend to be negative beliefs and negative emotions. These are usually limiting beliefs, or simply false impressions. It is important to acknowledge the thought; identify immediately what is untrue, where the limiting belief came from and counter it with the truth or supporting evidence. This exercise should be done quickly before we allow our emotions to take over and even lead us down a dangerous trap where anxiety, fear, or chaos take over.

Inspire Her Nexx Chapter, our inaugural Women’s Conference, will be held in Dallas, Texas August 29-31, 2025. LeTesha will be a speaker along with other inspiring women. Invest in yourself, gain valuable insights, and leave feeling refreshed, re-engaged, and ready to embrace your future. Register today!

We live in a society where self-care is believed to be important and focused on right now. At the Embracing HER Journey event, I shared that the soul involves three components – your mind, will, and emotions. If we spend time on self-care, it is essential to also analyze and reflect on our thoughts, feelings, and spiritual well-being as well. Soul care is about guiding your soul to a place of peace and wellness despite life circumstances.
