Love whoever you want. National Loving Day is on June 12th.  This day is meant to remember the 1967 court case Loving vs. Virginia where different raced couples were originally not allowed to marry. Now, because of the Loving vs. Virginia court case, people of different races can marry. The Lovings’ case highlights racial justice.

Facts about National Loving Day:

• Mildred and Richard Loving were a mixed-race couple who could not marry because interracial marriage was illegal in their state of Virginia.
• The Lovings got arrested due to their marriage.
• The Lovings took legal action, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of allowing interracial marriage.
