• 47 countries are said to participate in this day.
• The first bookplate for International Book Giving Day was created by Clara Vulliamy, a known illustrator of children’s books.
• International Book Giving Day promotes literacy among children, encourages generosity and sharing and helps build awareness about the importance of books.

• Give books to friends, children and strangers.
