The mind and body are a connection to our health: A connection that is important to balance out simply by being aware of what is healthy for both your mind and your body. International Mind-Body Wellness Day took place on January 3, 2022, but isn’t mind and body wellness something we should recognize every day?
The mind is basically your mental being or mental health. Mental health affects your physical health; similarly, your physical health can impact your mental health. There are ways I give my mind and body what they need, such as exercising, hobbies, and nutrients.
Exercising helps release the feel-good hormone, dopamine, in your body. It helps in reducing stress and in getting a good night’s sleep. I do Zumba exercises that help both my mind and body. Since I suffer from anxiety, and I have a history of emotional eating, this is the best exercise for me to reduce my anxiety and give me the motivation to be creative. There are all sorts of different exercises, you just must pick the right one that you think is best for you and discover how much it gives you the motivation to feel happy and energized.
Since it is the new year, I personally do not believe in false advertisements that give you the advice to have the “perfect” body. You determine what is best for your health and see what helps you find that motivation.
Physical health and mental health have the same needs, and no one knows what is best for your mind and body except you. Love yourself and the body that you were born in.
