Her Nexx Chapter and Me

I was feeling a huge desire to do more for the world when I started doing volunteer work. I was not sure how I could contribute to building a more equitable society, and I started to apply for various volunteer programs. I worked with children, young and old. I tried to awaken the best in people using my joy, but I realized that to really make a difference in people’s lives, I needed to have clear purposes that were in line with my values.

Volunteer work was a process of self-knowledge, alignment and mainly of inner development that I went through. As I added people to my projects and followers on my blogs, I started to understand who I was and what motivated me to continue! It was also a process of discipline and dedication. It is not easy to spend your time without paid benefits, you must be persistent and really believe in the strength of the work.

Today I direct, encourage, engage and connect people…I am a “WOMEN CONNECTOR!” This is like the air I need to breathe. It is wonderful to say that I know what my purpose is and that I have the skills to help people learn their purposes. Volunteer work allowed me to meet people and cultures that I would never have imagined, and I know that I surprised many people on this journey.

In my country, I conduct mentoring programs and discuss various topics involving women: domestic violence, female entrepreneurship, post-maternity employability, public policies and others. I am always attentive to any situation of vulnerability or repercussions that any woman may be in. I support diversity and always keep an open mind to include different or even opposite people and thoughts than mine. I can find out a little more about myself every time I experience it.

Then I can share all these experiences with many women. Being a volunteer at Her Nexx Chapter is having a voice for the world! This is my feeling whenever I write a blog and share my ideas and experiences with women who are physically distant, but who feel and experience a reality very close to mine. The feeling of connection is very strong in HNC; it is really commendable to be part of this team.
